Ramsay 3 under lights during recent drilling.

I’m hoping you’ve seen by now our release this morning of the encouraging preliminary results from our new natural hydrogen and helium well in South Australia.

The 97% (air corrected) hydrogen purity recording confirmed by an independent third party laboratory is the highest mark we’ve hit since exploration began in 2023.

Our Ramsay 1 and 2 wells produced a previously unheard of figure of 95.8% (air corrected) purity in our first drilling, so to beat that hopefully shows our target identification is on the money.

We don’t have the helium numbers back yet and other hydrogen samples are being processed as I write.

But it is an encouraging sign ahead of the drilling of Ramsay 4, our fourth well which will be closer to the original two than the latest one, Ramsay 3, on the Yorke Peninsula.

What we particularly like about these early results is that gas responses in Ramsay 3 at different depths correlate with key intervals in Ramsay 2, potentially confirming continuity of these zones up-dip across more than 2km, significantly strengthening the geological model for a laterally persistent natural hydrogen and helium system.

The second phase of well testing will be done in Q1 next year. The reason for that timing is twofold – we want to complete well drilling first while we have the rig, and we’re going through the approvals process for the next stage. We also need a different rig and equipment for that.

We’ll update when more results come in; and as Ramsay 4 drilling proceeds.

It’s a waiting game right now, but every little bit of data we gather is helping chart a course to commerciality.
