Key partner Mitsubishi Gas Chemical visits Ramsay 3

One of Gold Hydrogen’s main strategic partners, Japan’s Mitsubishi Gas Chemical, has sent senior leaders to South Australia to view preparations for our most significant exploration tests yet.

MGC President Yoshinori Isahaya, Managing Executive Officer (Information & Advanced Materials Division) Tatsuro Mochinaga and Shoji Matsukawa, GM of the Carbon Neutral Project in the Chemical Division, were on the Yorke Peninsula recently.

They had come from Japan specifically to see the site ahead of crucial flow testing at the Ramsay 3 well, due to start any day.

The Ramsay 3 tests will be conducted on the largest cased well yet, with larger capacity pump technology which will optimise the testing for Natural Hydrogen and Helium.

MGC, along with Eneos Xplora and Toyota, became strategic partners in Gold Hydrogen after a $14.5 million investment last year.

Mitsubishi Gas Chemical is most interested in using South Australian hydrogen in a process to manufacture green methanol, and sees the peninsula as an ideal site, with local biomass another key ingredient and port access close by.

The two companies discussed the next steps in their agreement to work on a pre-feasibility study for green methanol production.

The executives visited the Ramsay 1, 2 and 3 wells and Port Giles.

Port Giles is handy to Gold Hydrogen’s tenement.

Gold Hydrogen managing director Neil McDonald said MGC congratulated the company on their progress to date.

"It was fantastic to have them out here at such an important time for us. Their engagement has been first rate from day one and they continue to want to collaborate fully as we develop our resources."
